Life in Pictures

Not sure if this post should be related to time travel or time suck, but both are completely perfect. Life magazine just released its entire archive to Google Images courtesy of the Library of Congress. This union marries the delicious searchability of Google with creme de la creme photographs from every decade beginning in 1860. How great is that?

I lost an hour, easy. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I'm afraid to go over there. I'd spend the day.

I love that photograph! Like Charles, I'm afraid if I visit the site, I won't leave until nightfall. Glad you posted the link, though, for later!

This is one of my favorite photos of all time. I am a sucker for old pictures. I will stare for the longest time at a street scene shot in the sixties, looking at the cars, the dress styles, the stores and merchandise, the ads on the billboards. Maybe it's the historian in me.

I love old photographs and many of the Life photos bring back a nostalgic time for me. Especially those from the 50s and 60s.

Great. There goes my whole weekend, L.A.! Six days on the road and now two lost in historical photographs. I'll never get caught up!

Oh, wonderful, L.A. - this will certainly help me in my research of WWII for my current WIP.

And like Marilyn and Stewart this is one of my favorite images of all time.

Charles...you will, don't do it;)

Marilyn and Stewart and Jen...I love this photo, too. It's the one I looked for immediately.

Barbara...you are a photo kind of gal, aren't you? Your blog is like a treat for the eyes.

Rick...I'll be expecting the next dragon post ten minutes ago. Get right on that :)

Vesper...I love that you used "splended" I could never pull off such a word, but you do it with such grace, like your fiction :)

Sherry...is that a cyber-pulse I hear? ;O Glad to have you back.
